My Story

A little bit about myself

My Story

In my own view, I’m a savvy, witty, and friendly person—someone who is entertaining, loving, and possesses a unique sense of panache and charisma.

I’m a ‘Kiwi’. I have travelled and worked extensively in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the Far East, Middle East, Pacific Islands, North America, Russia, Europe and the UK conducting one-on-one sessions and keynote speaking engagements in many major as well as regional cities, towns and rural villages of the world.

I grew up and worked in New Zealand for my first three decades. In my early thirties, I made Australia my home-base until in January 2010 when I left Australia’s shores and embarked on a one year worldwide travelling holiday with no plan in mind other than having a spontaneous adventure. Boy I sure had one! Since 2012 have been settled with my wife and youngest daughter together in coastal South Thailand.

I am a capable presenter, creative thinker, solution provider and a highly experienced one-on-one counsellor/personal advisor. Interpersonal relationships of all types is a specialty area of mine.

During my my 6 decades on this blue planet. I’ve been called many names… mostly nice ones.. thankfully!!

Among some of the adjectives are words like… Kind, Spiritual, Generous, Quirky, Eccentric, Passionate, Witty, Innovative,Entrepreneurial, Interested, Good listener, Compassionate, and Loving.

Family

I have three awesome children. My two eldest are Sarah and Caleb. Sarah is my gorgeous eldest daughter and a dedicated midwife—what a gal. Caleb, my eldest son, works in finance. I truly cherish every opportunity I get to hang out with them both. Then there is Virginia, my lovely “late-comer.” She has been a life-changing experience in all the best ways at this stage of my journey.

The most difficult part of living in Asia is not seeing my adult children, grandkids, extended family, and friends enough, as they reside in other parts of the globe. Then again, we could live in the same town and I might still feel that way!

Connections & Philosophy

I enjoy the company of interesting, good-hearted people with inquiring minds—those who have realized that “the journey is the main event” and who never want to stop learning. I find it easy to relate effectively to people of all nationalities, philosophies, religions, and cultures.

Purpose

I have a compassionate, empathetic heart and a listening ear for those who feel they are currently walking through “the valley of the shadow of death.” If someone is serious about finding their way through to greener pastures and quieter waters, there is a good chance I can make a valuable contribution to their path.

I have felt “Life” encouraging and facilitating me toward this work for as long as I can remember, even as a young child. Today, I feel this mission is more imperative than ever.

A Final Thought

I appreciate kind, good-natured people who love to laugh. Whether you love to go out or stay home, love to drink or prefer not to, I value a “love of life” and an appreciation for everything in moderation—including the occasional bit of excess, in moderation, of course!

If you feel we might relate to one another, I invite you to get in touch whenever the time feels right for you.
